Co-Director: Network Development and Advancement Partnership for the Future of Learning

Natasha Capers (They/Fam/Your Highness) joined the Partnership for the Future of Learning as Network Co-Director: Network Development and Advancement as the Co-Director: Network Development and Advancement. 

In July of 2011, Natasha became a parent leader with the NYC Coalition for Education Justice, then rose to join the staff as the Coordinator and then to Director. 

Prior to their role at the NYC Coalition for Educational Justice, Natasha Capers was an Outreach Leader at the Alliance for Quality Education from January 2013 to September 2013. They mobilized statewide communities to advocate for high-quality public education and dismantle systemic racism. Natasha educated community members on advocacy strategies, led outreach initiatives, and served as a spokesperson, effectively amplifying AQE’s message.

Natasha Capers has been instrumental in bringing Community Schools to NYC Public Schools on a large scale, effectively advocating for educational reforms that benefit underserved communities. They pioneered the Extended Parent Teacher Conversations initiative, which secured $5 million in funding to enhance parental involvement in education. Additionally, Natasha organized and won $202 million for the implementation of a culturally responsive curriculum in NYC, the largest school district in the country. Their efforts also included securing funding from the city council, the mayor, and the Department of Education for various education initiatives, showcasing their commitment to fostering educational equity and excellence.Fund and co-founded a youth-led organization promoting racial justice in schools.

In 2023 nearly 20 years after dropping out of college, Natasha made the choice to go back to school and is earning their Bachelors degree in Gender Studies at John Jay University.
