Aisha Haynes
Director of Storytelling Prepared to TeachDr. Aisha Haynes is the Director of Storytelling on the Prepared To Teach team. She co-develops and supports research, reports, and briefs that are written by and with local partnerships such as the Texas ESCs. With local partners, she has collaborated on a co-constructed learning agenda to design, build, and strengthen teacher residencies to support high-quality teacher preparation. Her career has been dedicated to creating an equitable & meaningful educational system for all students. Prior to joining the Prepared to Teach team, she served as a classroom teacher for over a decade and then worked to strengthen academic enrichment activities to provide students with an effective academic bridge from high school to college, as a pedagogical specialist. She has paired her background as an educator in underserved populations with her professional research, which explores the barriers to improving the quality of the educational experience for Black and brown students. Dr. Haynes holds a Master’s degree in Teaching from Fordham University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from New York University.
