This report identifies policy actions to strengthen public education as a public good and ensure it can fulfill its essential, longstanding role as a strong pillar of communities. The report argues that public education is the surest path to deeper, more engaged learning and equity by race, gender, and zip code so that every child has the opportunity to fully participate in a diverse democracy and thrive in an evolving, unpredictable economy.
