Carolyn WoodBoard President / Advocacy and Legislative Services Public Education Matters GA
Carolyn Wood is a long-time public education advocate, having practiced law in this area for years before helping to form two non-profits focused solely on improving public education policy in Georgia. She was educated in the public school system from elementary through graduate school and received her JD, with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She currently serves as President of the Board for both of the afore-mentioned nonprofits, Public Education Matters Georgia (c3) and Public Education Matters Georgia Action Fund (c4). These nonprofits work closely with the Georgia Coalition for Public Education and focus on supporting the use of evidence-based Community Schools strategies in Georgia and on advancing equity in public education funding across the state.
